The River Skate Park
West Bank, Arkansas River
The original hub for Tulsa's skate scene since the '80s

About

The River Skate Park (often called the West Bank or 21st Street Skatepark) was located near 464 W. 23rd Street. It was the original "go-to" spot before the newer concrete parks were built.

It featured over 20 different elements, including half-pipes, quarter-pipes, and pyramids. Millions of memories on those sheet metal pipes. It was removed due to Gathering Place and River Parks expansion projects. Video: Tulsa skatepark slated for demolition

Ridge Rider

Tulsa's very first skatepark — opened summer 1978
▼ tap for history

About

The very first skate park in Tulsa was Ridge Rider, which opened in late summer 1978 near 15th Street and Memorial Drive. Known for its three concrete runs — beginner, intermediate, and expert — as well as a freestyle area and slalom track, it was a prominent 1970s skate destination.

The park was later renamed the "Electric Silvermint" as it transitioned to an arcade. Although the craze eventually faded and the park closed, its concrete footprint was visible for years afterward. Learn more at Concrete Disciples
